      Corpus Christi (CCCC)

Corpus Christi Catholic College is an expanding 11-16 Voluntary Aided, mixed comprehensive secondary school in the Diocese of Leeds serving the parishes and Catholic primary school communities in the east of Leeds.

The college is significantly oversubscribed and enjoys a strong reputation in the local area as a rapidly improving school with a strong Christian and community ethos, characterised by mutual respect between staff and students and the value that is placed on each individual person for their intrinsic worth.

A traditional pastoral structure promotes and maintains the highest standards of uniform and behaviour. Students have access to a wide range of external agencies to support their academic, social, moral, physical and spiritual well-being.

Under ‘Building Schools for the Future’, the main College building has been completely refurbished with the addition of new buildings including state of art sports hall, fitness suite and performing arts studio.

You will immerse yourself from the start in our experienced PE department and have the unique opportunity to develop your experience in a dynamic and supportive school environment, whilst allowing you to establish your own style of teaching.

As a trainee of PE, this is where you will spend the first six weeks of your PGCE course, where you will have the opportunity to observe and learn from experts delivering your subject, as well as spending time with the other trainees learning all about the pedagogy behind teaching your subject, how to plan lessons, what makes an excellent lesson as well as at the same time developing your subject knowledge. As the six-weeks Lead School Experience progresses, you will have the opportunity to teach lessons, this is a personalised journey, so for some, that may happen sooner, as we can tailor the course to suit your previous experience and confidence at this stage.
