Kristie Stubley Art and Design
I've had an excellent experience at Guiseley school during stage one and two. Highlights included excellent training sessions regarding the range of different methods outstanding teachers use and a massively supportive department and mentors. I really enjoyed the hands on training and being based in a school rather than university. I've met some really great people and had lots of fun along the way. - Kristie Stubley, Art and Design, 2016
In the next five years, Kristie would like to be: Teacher, I wouldn't mind being a mentor! or Head of department !
Kristie chose Leeds SCITT because: The opportunity to train in a school setting for a more hands on experience, high quality recommendation and the high employment rate of graduates.
We asked Kristie what are the unique selling points about Leeds SCITT were. Her answer was: As above, as well as excellent support, small group numbers and advice from high quality teachers across all settings
What advice would you give to applicants when they are deciding who to train with?
Decide what is best for you, if you would prefer a more authentic school experience, the opportunity to get stuck in to teaching straight away and are interested in developing your knowledge and skills quickly and effectively (but are not afraid of hard work!) I would recommend leeds SCITT.
Here is Kristie's tweet about the course:
Fantastic, scary, interesting, tiring, busy, fun, rewarding.
