What People Say

Rebecca Neil History

If you want quality training, hands on experience and extensive support, SCITT is the course for you!

'The unbelievable support offered by Michelle and the SCITT team. The hands on experience, and the SEB assessment. Although at the time I couldn’t see it, since beginning my teaching profession, there has not been a challenge I have faced that I was not prepared for through the SEB.' - Rebecca Neil, History, 2014

We asked Rebecca:

1.       What have you enjoyed most about your time on the course?

What I enjoyed the most whilst on the SCITT course was the hands on experience I was able to gain from week 1. Instead of sitting in a lecture theatre learning about behaviour management, I was able to observe a class and then put the strategies in to practice. It provided a great platform for when I first took over my classes and even for today. It also gave me the initial confidence I needed.

2.       What are your career ambitions for the next five years?

I am currently in my second year of teaching and would like to become subject leader within the next 5 years.

3.       Why did you choose Leeds SCITT?

I chose Leeds SCITT because of the reputation Leeds Trinity had as a training provider. I felt SCITT was more suited to me as I am more of an active learner.

4. Hobbies outside of work:

Travelling and eating.

5.Finally, if you had to sum up the course / your experiences / thoughts for a tweet (140 characters), what would it be?

A thoroughly challenging yet enjoyable experience which guided me along the pathway into a career I love.

Rachel who also studied History says...

I chose Leeds SCITT purely on reputation as a Leeds SCITT trainee/NQT comes in high esteem! Leeds SCITT is renowned for its employment rates and quality of trainees.
