Successful candidates will gain experience in delivering a range of Dance styles and extracurricular opportunities on a local and national scale. There will also be many opportunities for collaborative and cross-curricular work.
With a smaller cohort than many other Dance ITT courses, Leeds SCITT offers you a very personal training experience where you are nurtured and equipped with the best tools to become a successful teacher.
The most enjoyable part of the course is working alongside subject specialists and improving subject knowledge
— Nicole, dance Trainee

My favourite moment whilst studying with Leeds SCITT, was delivering one of my first outstanding lessons that ensured pupils of all backgrounds and dispositions were accounted for. Through my planning and differentiation, I felt that I was able to make a significant difference to pupils’ learning for them to progress further.
I think the most important thing in teaching is reflecting and learning from mistakes. Leeds SCITT allows you to get inside the classroom straight away, allowing you to not only build in confidence but as a facilitator too. The support that you receive is superb and will allow you to grow into the teacher that you want to become.
Don’t be afraid to ask questions, no matter how silly you may feel. A problem shared is always a problem halved!
