Whilst you’ll focus on Biology, trainees will also have the opportunity to expand their teaching experience further within the subject of science, by leading Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 classes on Chemistry and Physics.
The Science SCITT course with Biology is an ideal course for candidates that have the passion and enthusiasm needed to help shape young lives. If you are passionate about working within a teaching environment and eager to develop your confidence and understanding as a teacher, our School Centred Initial Teacher Training course is a fantastic choice for you. Our Lead Tutor will ensure that you have access to a stimulating programme of teacher training, and will ensure that you are given every opportunity to succeed as a Biology teacher. As part of your training at Wetherby High School, you will have the opportunity to observe colleagues not only in Biology, but across our school curriculum. The Lead Tutor will also guide you through the Teaching Standards, providing you with a clear path to success, and modelling for you high expectations needed to succeed as a Biology Teacher.
The Lead Tutor will also support you to take risks in the classroom, and offer constructive criticism as to how to further develop into the teacher that you want to be.
