Successful candidates will gain experience in a range of dramatic styles and a variety of examination specifications. The Drama curriculum at Cockburn is regularly evaluated to ensure the most up to date professional developments and current arts-specific teaching approaches are implemented. The Drama department at Cockburn are passionate about utilising a vocational approach to delivering key skills in Drama. Students regularly engage with professional artists in a variety of disciplines to ensure a wider perspective of the arts profession.

The Drama SCITT course is a PGCE course, with trainees spending more time training in secondary schools than on traditional PGCE courses.

Trainees with engaging personalities, creativity and a depth of general subject knowledge will build on their existing skills to start their career as teachers of this unique and powerful subject.
