earn employment within teaching

I appreciated going into school straight away rather than doing solely university-based training.

It's very hands on, and in my opinion is the most effective way to learn how to be an effective teacher.

Eleanor, A&D 2020/21 cohort

How it Works:

  • Start in your Lead School teaching classes in pairs or individually
  • Develop your subject knowledge for teaching throughout the course
  • Undertake contrasting school placements putting into practice what you have learnt at your Lead School

As well as gaining QTS in your training year you will gain a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) with 60 credits towards a Master’s Course (FHEQ Level 7). PGCE awards are from Leeds Trinity University. The award of QTS is from Leeds SCITT.
